The Bubinga Story

Darren Dent founded the company, and, as the premier designer is the dominant force in all its creations. His passion for cabinet making began through the influence of his Grandfather.

When he was a boy he used to watch his Grandfather fashion art marquetry using 'Bubinga' as his material. He was enthralled watching him create a beautiful works of art using such a simple material. Years later Darren started working as an apprentice cabinet maker and has extended his skills and experience through hard work and determination.

The devastating loss of his father inspired him to review his career and engendered the decision to invest his inheritance in the formation of Bubinga.

Bubinga is a hardwood often used for musical instruments and chessboards. It comes from swampy areas in Equatorial Africa.
